Meet the Team

President
SUE ROYCE
Sue got her pilot’s license in 1976 so she could fly with her mother in the very last Powderpuff Derby. She’s been enjoying flying recreationally ever since. In 19xx she joined a Cherokee flying club at Gnoss Field where she still owns her hangar and hosts 99s meetings. Sue is a strong pilot mentor, advocate of women’s flying and backbone of the Marin 99s.

Secretary & Co-Social Chair
Alyssa Abbey
Alyssa only got her pilot’s license in her 50s, but is determined to make up for lost time. She enjoys flying her Cessna R182 around the bay area and around the USA, four circuits so far. She has a seaplane rating and wishes she lived on a lake and could buy some amphib floats!

Treasurer
Ghoncheh Angha
Ghoncheh decided to change her career from Chemist to Pilot. She earned her private pilot certificate in 2024 while working two jobs. She decided the only way to achieve her goals in a short amount of time was to quit her job and start full time flight school instead. She looks forward to working in the airlines in the future.

Co-Social Chair
Carrie Clark
Carrie is a Marin County local and got her Private Pilots License at North Coast after graduating from UC Berkeley. She is currently working on her instrument in San Diego and manages the Marin 99s Instagram!
